1985-1986

The first Veneitä ensemble was founded by M. Taanila and H.S. Tuominen in the early 1985. During the summer a handful of material was recorded together with T. Palvanen (percussion) and P. Koskinen (piano):  'Kadulta mereen',  'Pronssi',  '8 astetta'  and  'Metodi'. By autumn the line-up was back to a duo again.
Sometime during the summer of 1986,  'Haag' was recorded together with J.Soivio. By autumn -86 all activities were elsewhere.

1990-1994  and  2004-2005

At the beginning of the '90s the name Veneitä was re-activated when H.S. Tuominen, J-P Härkä and Jukka Vaissi began rehearsing at Rantakasarmi in Suomenlinna.
The ensemble released two cassette-albums, Ansari (1993) and Kantikas (1994), but by that time had also started drifting into undefined inactivity.

After a pause of ten years, Veneitä began a new recording project in 2004, and from that material released Hyöty (2005).
