1985-1986
The first Veneitä ensemble was founded by Mika Taanila and H.S. Tuominen in the early 1985. During the summer a handful of material was recorded together with Taito Palvanen (percussion) and Pietari Koskinen (piano), and the line-up also attended Workers Musicfestival held in Valkeakoski. Although the group played under the name Pacifico Klang, the occasion has remained the sole public performance of Veneitä-material.
By autumn -85 the line-up was back to a duo again, and by autumn -86 all activities were elsewhere.
1990-
At the beginning of the '90s the name Veneitä was re-activated when H.S. Tuominen, J-P Härkönen and Jukka T. Väisänen began rehearsing at Rantakasarmi in Suomenlinna.
The ensemble released two cassette-albums, Ansari (1993) and Kantikas (1994), but by that time had also started drifting into undefined inactivity.
After a pause of ten years, Veneitä began a new recording project in 2004, and from that material released Hyöty (2005).
